I don’t know if it’s the fact that New York Fashion Week is taking over my feed, or if it’s all of the pinning I’ve been doing, but I feel super motivated to style outfits for fall. Despite the fact that it’s still 95 degrees in California, I’m ready for chunky knits, boots, and trendy coats. For better or for worse (for my bank account), I’ve been shopping a lot lately trying to secure key pieces for the upcoming season. That said, there’s still a lot of things that I need (well, want).
Here are a few of the things I’ve got my eye on for fall.
Leather pants — Okay, so they’re not totally practical for California’s current weather, but I’m here for the leather trend. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of black pleather pants to pair with a fun tee or knit sweater.
Puffy sleeves — While super feminine looks aren’t usually my jam, I can really get on board with puffy sleeves. I love the bustier style tops with dramatic sleeves. Drool.
Tie dye — It’s tie-dye for. I’m obsessed with tie dye this season, regardless of the color or style.
Cargo-style jumpsuits — Calling cadet Kelly. I’m loving the cargo/utility trend right now. I think it’s so cute with Doc Martens or a good pair of tennis shoe.
Doc Martens — Which brings me to my next item: Doc Marten boots. I’ve been avoiding this trend for a few years, but I’m finally ready to cave and snag a pair of my own. I think the chunky, edgy style looks so good with flirty dresses.
Lack of Color Noir Rancher — Every season I like to add a new Lack of Color hat to the collection, and I think it’s time for a black rancher. It’s just too good.
Chunky hoops — I need some chunky gold hoop earrings. But, like, I also need them to be good quality and not too heavy. Suggestions?
Ribbed bodysuits — I just ordered a white ribbed bodysuit from Reformation, but I want more. Specifically, I love the wife beater, skinny spaghetti strap, and one shoulder looks. I think it’s so cute for date night with denim, a leather jacket, and heels.
Band tees — I can never have enough band tees. Truly. For fall, I want them oversized paired with biker shorts and a blazer, with distressed denim, or tucked in to a pleather skirt or pants.
Black denim — I recently got rid of my favorite black denim because they weren’t high-waisted (and it was not cute). For fall I’d love to get one really good pair of black high-waisted denim.
Gucci mules — I’ve gone back and forth on these, but I think I just need to bite the bullet. They’re worth it, right?
Snake skin — shoes, skirts, shirts, oh my! I am digging snake skin in all shapes, sizes and forms.
