Every year I try to make it out to Palm Springs at least twice. And each time, I make it a point to find a new restaurant or bar to drag my friends and family to. This spring I went to Palm Springs three times in a seven week span. Bonkers, right? It was wild, but it gave me ample opportunities to try new dinner spots and watering holes.
Back in 2016, I compiled a list of some of my favorite spots in Palm Desert and Palm Springs. And while I still love all of those places, said list needed an update. I’ve added new rooftop bars, swanky restaurants, and the best outdoor patios in the area.
+ King’s Highway Diner — King’s Highway is located inside the ever-famous Ace Hotel. I’ve only eaten here once, but their breakfast burrito was enough to earn a spot on my list. I’m sure their other food is great too.
+ Azucar Restaurant and Bar — Holy cuteness, you guys. If I could move in to Azucar, I would. This rooftop restaurant and bar is nothing short of amazing. Go at sunset for a pre-dinner cocktail, you won’t regret it.
+ Bootlegger Tiki — If you go to one place on this list, it has to be Bootlegger Tiki. It’s a moody and intimate tiki bar at the edge of downtown, and the drinks pack a punch. Get your cocktail in a conch shell, or opt for their popular Mai Tai— either way, you can’t go wrong.
+ Las Casuelas Terazza — Las Casuelas Nuevas made my 2016 round-up, but I couldn’t neglect their downtown location. Las Casuelas Terazza is a vibe, their queso is to die for, and their skinny margarita alone is worth a trip. Go for dinner and enjoy live music on their outdoor patio, it’s the best.
+ El Hefe (in the Saguaro) — El Hefe is a small little bar inside the Saguaro Hotel, but the margaritas, guacamole, and decor make it a must.
+ Tropicale —This place was a crowd favorite. Tropicale is a swanky and happening restaurant near downtown Palm Springs with a cute little outdoor patio. I’d recommend a reservation, but you won’t regret going (swear).
+ Birba Palm Springs — I didn’t eat here, but it’s a great spot to grab a beer on a nice day (or while you wait for a table at Cheeky’s next door). I love a good outdoor patio and Birba’s is no exception.
+ Ernest Coffee — Ernest is quite the little hipster coffee shop, but their coffee and pastries are a million times better than any Starbucks— you have my word.
+ Draughtsman — We love going to Draughtsman for lunch and beers because they have allll the activities. It’s a great spot with corn hole, connect four, and the most frustrating (but addicting) hook and ring game. It’s a great place to bring your family, or your best dude.
This year I frolicked around Palm Springs in the cutest linen frock from Largo Drive. Largo Drive is one of my go-to online boutiques because they have the cutest curated mix from all of my favorite brands. This dress is by Jen’s Pirate Booty— but check out all of their new arrivals for a TOMA (The Ocean Minded Approved) summer wardrobe refresh.
