It’s crunch time (pun intended) for that summer bod.
Because I work from home, I find myself snacking a lot more than when I’m out and about, or in the office. Partly out of boredom, but mostly because it’s readily available at my fingertips. Either way, it’s my kryptonite and makes it hard to stick to a diet. In an effort to nip snacking in the bud, I’ve started using an app to count my calories. Not only does this hold me accountable, it helps me track the kinds of things I’m eating throughout the day. Counting my calories, and monitoring my food, has helped me to make smarter decisions when snacking feels inevitable.
Luckily some of my all-time favorite snacks (besides hot Cheetos and Cheez-its) are all-natural, fresh, at home recipes. They aren’t hard to make, but the yum factor is next-level. I don’t normally opt for sweets, but I love me a good tropical fruit salad, especially if it’s topped with a little chili-lime action.
I don’t think I could survive the spring or summer seasons without a tropical fruit and tajin medley. It’s something I’m constantly craving and whipping up when I’m in a pinch. This dish is equal parts healthy, easy, refreshing, sweet and spicy. Yes, please!
What You’ll Need
1/2 of a lime
Add your chopped fruits in to a bowl, top with fresh-squeezed juice from half of a lime and season with Tajin. That’s all there is to it. Pretend you’re on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and enjoy!
