I have recently taken a greater interest in the skincare and beauty industries. I don’t know if that’s because I’m nearing 30, and my face needs all the help it can get, or because I feel the pressure to be on top of the beauty trends as a blogger— but either way, I’ve been elbows deep in new product.
It has taken me a while to write this, because I’ve been testing so many new brands, and have been trying to fine-tune my routine to find something that keeps my face moisturized without feeling too oily. I have been searching for a cocktail of varying skincare products that reap different benefits, while having ingredients that compliment each other, and I didn’t want to jump the gun with a blog post until I found something that worked and made sense. But, alas, I have found a combination that I love for the dry, winter months.
So, here we go.
In the morning
When I wake up, I typically drink my coffee in bed and respond to any time sensitive emails, so washing my face is not generally the first task on my to-do list. But eventually, I cleanse my face with cold water, no soap, and pat it dry.
Glossier Super Pure Serum — I love using this in the morning, because it’s very light. The Super Pure Serum has Vitamin B3 to combat redness and even out the skin tone and Zinc to penetrate your pores and clear impurities. This serum goes on like water, so I use it first as a base.
Eminence Marine Flower Peptide Serum — This serum is a bit thicker, but it is magic, swear. The key ingredient here is the natural Smart Collagen Complex, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles and plumps up the face with long lasting hydration and increased firmness. I’m all about this stuff. I wear it in the morning for a more youthful glow, and again at night to help prevent aging. You can get it here.
Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil — I always, always put on a facial oil before I do my makeup. Why? I love that dewy, I-wish-I-was-in-Hawaii look. The Lapis Facial Oil is my new favorite. It’s all-natural, reduces inflammation and redness, moisturizes without being too oily, increases elasticity and fights hyper-pigmentation and aging. All around, a total win.
Gulsha Ultimate Rose Water — After my serums and oils are situated, I jade roll for about 3 minutes. This helps de-puff and really evens out my skin. Then I follow up with a spritz of Gulsha Ultimate Rose Water, which I use as my primer and setting spray before and after my makeup. I am addicted to this stuff, it’s undoubtedly the best rose water I’ve used. You can get it here.
At night I like to layer it on a little bit thicker, and really give my skin a chance to absorb the serums and moisturizers. I feel like while I’m sleeping, and not touching my face, my skin can really benefit from soaking in the ingredients.
L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cleansing Foam — First, I take off any makeup with coconut oil or makeup remover, and then I use the Immortelle Divine Cleansing Foam to wash my face and neck. This stuff feels like you’re rubbing the softest velvet on your face, but it really gets the job done without drying out your skin.
A mask — About once a week I will use a peel-off mask to help get rid of dead, dry skin and impurities. My two favorites are the Boscia Peel-Off Mask or GlamGlow’s Gravitymud Mask.
Pixi Glow Tonic — I don’t use this every night, and especially not if I am using a mask, but a few times a week I will lather on some Pixi Glow Tonic with a cotton pad. This has 5% Glyolic Acid Formula with Aloe Vera and Ginseng, which exfoliates to remove dead skin cells and give you a super solid glow.
Eminence Marine Flower Peptide Serum — Yep, I use this again. It’s that good. Did I mention it’s organic and natural?
L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Eye Balm — I have never been big on eye creams, which I realize now was a huge missed opportunity on my part. The Immortelle Divine Eye Balm goes on so smooth that it completely ditches any misconceptions I had about thick, grimy eye creams. This stuff is kinda amazing. It reduces puffiness and dark circles, and visibly smooths the eye’s contour appearance. You can get it here.
L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream — Have you ever wanted to bottle up water from the fountain of youth and lather it on your face? Look no further. The L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Creme is lightweight, but ultra-nourishing, and it helps fight visible signs of aging. My face has never felt as soft as it does after using this gem. Check it out here, it’s worth every dang penny.
That all being said, I admittedly need to be better about moisturizing my limbs (arms and legs), someone hold me accountable for that.
This post was in collaboration with L’Occitane, Eminence Organics, and Gulsha, but as always, all opinions are my own.
