Last weekend, we attended the most fabulous wedding. It was at a secret, private location and we literally had no idea where the venue was until the complimentary shuttle dropped us off. So, here we are, one week later and the secret’s out. The wedding was at Petroni Vineyards in Sonoma, California (google it, it’s amazing).
The ceremony was outdoors, on a hilltop that overlooked miles and miles of Sonoma vineyards. It was gorgeous, but it gets better. The cocktail hour, five-course dinner and reception were all in an underground wine cave. There was not one single detail that was overlooked. There were vintage persian rugs and couches throughout the venue accompanied by moody florals and gold candlesticks, we had different wine pairings with every course of the meal, and an open bar. The bride and groom did their first dance to “Beauty and the Beast” performed by live violinists and we entered the long, family-style dining room to “Be Our Guest.” It was all just so over the top, but in the best way.
Since I work from home, and practically live in workout clothes, I knew I wanted to go full-glam for this one. I saw this slip dress, from Planet Blue, months ago and knew I needed it for the wedding. I paired it with a beaded star purse, starburst statement earrings, smokey eyes and a nude lip.
At the very last second, I decided to add a pop of deep green, and I’m really glad that I did. I wore green velvet ankle strap heels and a two-toned green faux fur coat, and I love how it turned out.
I have a feeling I’ll be over-wearing these pieces (separately) all winter long.
