I really dig a cozy, eclectic home— especially during the fall season. There’s nothing I love more than cuddling up on the couch with my favorite shows and my favorite throws, a generous glass of wine and yummy candles burning throughout the house. When I think of fall, that’s what comes to mind. You know what I’m talking about, those slow and easy mornings that turn into lazy afternoons with takeout pizza in pajamas.
In order to achieve said level of coziness, you need an assortment of unique home goods that really speak to your personality and wrap you up in their charm. In our case, we incorporated California-coastal pieces and a whole lot of mud cloth (c/o my favorite little shop, Ebb & Thread) throughout the Texas apartment for a beachy-boho, bungalow vibe.
If we can’t live by the waves, I’m bringin’ the waves to us.
The collection of southern California candles comes from Vellabox, a monthly artisan candle subscription box. You choose your subscription, they choose the candles, and the rest is magic. I love how all of the candles that they sent me are scents inspired by Southern California beaches, because I could sit and take in that salty air all freakin’ day long.
On the walls, we hung an old surfboard and as much Daniella Manini artwork as we could. Daniella pulls inspiration from vintage flair and the ocean, and her prints are pure gold (I swear). We have six pieces throughout the apartment inspired by San Diego surf spots, and I would add six more if I could. It’s so comforting having a little slice of home hanging on the walls, even though we’re actually 1,700 miles away.
With a mix of textures, funky accents, neutrals and patterns, our interior style is perfectly imperfect and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
