Fall Fitspiration: A Seven Week Training Plan

I should have done this months ago, pre-bikini bod season, but I am finally getting back on track with my fitness routine— a little fall fitspiration, if you will.

For the past five months or so, I have not been entirely happy with my weight. And instead of working out harder and longer, I lost motivation altogether. It’s a vicious cycle, you see. If I feel discouraged, I work out less, which only makes me feel and look worse.

It’s not that I haven’t been working out at all (I have). I have a fitness class three times a week and I typically swim laps on the days that I’m not at bootcamp. But, I can do better. I used to do a lot of cardio, and my goal for fall is to get that back— if not for my health, for my sanity.

In an effort to kick-start my fitness goals, I bought some new running gear (because, duh) and had my dad write me up a seven week running training plan.

Week 1  — run 3.0 | day off | run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0
Week 2 — run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0
Week 3 — run 5.0 | day off | run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0
Week 4 — run 5.0 | day off | run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0
Week 5 — run 5.0 | day off | run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0
Week 6 — run 6.0 | day off | run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0
Week 7 — run 7.0 | day off | run 3.0 | day off | run 4.0 | day off | run 4.0

I am only sharing this with you so that someone (anyone) can hold me accountable. I plan on doing this in addition to fitness class and swim practice, in the hopes to kick my nacho-loving ass back in shape. Who’s with me?
