Spring Fever: The Long Sleeve Maxi

FILED IN: Fashion

The days are getting longer, the blooms are getting brighter, the drinks are getting colder and the shorts are getting shorter; spring has officially sprung!

Although we’re far from an endless summer and 90 degree weather, I’m itching to retire my thick sweaters and slip into something simpler. The shift in seasons has me dreaming of salty sunsets, bouquets of peonies, strawberry fields, sun dresses and strappy sandals.

In an effort to maximize these long-awaited warmer days, everyone’s favorite dress is making an early debut. You know the one– the “yoga pants aren’t acceptable all day, so I guess I’ll put on a dress” dress. When in doubt, said dress always has you covered (literally). In case you’re still unsure, we’re talkin’ maxi dresses.

Date night? Maxi dress. Traveling? Maxi dress. Lazy day? Maxi dress. Bloated? Maxi dress. Boyfriend acting up? Maxi dress. Okay, you get the point.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, what’s the easiest way to kick the winter blues and transition from beanies to bikinis? Two words: long sleeves. The long sleeve maxi is pure magic (thank me later). You get the flowy, no-fuss, flirty fashion of a summer dress mixed with the warmth and to-die-for coziness of your favorite over-sized, long sleeve t-shirt.

In the warmer months, there are few things I love more than a killer ‘kini, a staple maxi and a statement kimono. So naturally, in the spirit of spring, I had to get my hands on the Free People Modern Kimono Maxi Dress. With it’s subtle boho-print, crisp bright-white hues, and romantic lace-up details, I was feeling all sorts of giddy over this dreamy piece.

Bring it, spring.
